Animal Adventures #1 (Timor, December 1953) is a funny-animal comic book aimed at children, packed with slapstick hijinks starring a cast of anthropomorphic critters. In the lead story, the royal rabbit King Karrot promises his nephews a dragon that doesn't exist and orders his court magician Oodini to conjure one up; elsewhere, Tobias Turtle is commanded by King Leo to joust his alligator rival like a medieval knight, and readers get the origin of Soopermutt, a dog who gains superpowers after sending away for mail-order "Invincible Ink" — a gentle parody of the superhero craze. The issue rounds out with Orsen Buggy: Bank Nite Tonite and other short gag features.

The comic was published in December 1953 by Timor, one of the many imprints of the prolific, budget-minded Golden Age publisher Stanley Morse. It is characteristic of the inexpensive funny-animal kids' comics that flooded newsstands in the early 1950s. The series was short-lived, running just three issues (1953–1954), and its stories were later recycled and reprinted by Accepted Publications in 1955.

For collectors and historians, Animal Adventures #1 is a modest but charming artifact of mid-century children's comics and of Stanley Morse's sprawling low-budget output. The Soopermutt origin in particular offers a light satirical nod to the superhero genre.
