The book follows the wacky escapades of Beanbags — a diminutive, fast-talking hero — and his companions Bozo, Idabelle, and the deposed King Notzo Mportant. In the debut issue's interconnected tales ("The Road to Zanytopia," "Culinary Capers," "Shipwrecked"), Bozo's bizarre invention "Zanymulch" gets classified as a secret weapon for its power to stupefy people, sending the gang on a globe-trotting, increasingly absurd quest through invented lands like Zanytopia and Disturbia, where it literally rains Zanymulch.

The comic is a classic artifact of the early-1950s humor-adventure niche. Cover and interior pencils are by Ben Brown, with inks by David Gantz — a cartoonist later known for newspaper strips and children's books.
