Captain Flight Comics #1 is a Golden Age war and aviation comic book, published in March 1944 by Four-Star Publications — an imprint of the Robert W. Farrell publishing operation. This debut issue introduces Captain Flight, a pilot-inventor-adventurer in the pulp aviation mold who battles Axis saboteurs and enemy agents with revolutionary aircraft of his own design. The 60-page issue bundles several features: the Captain Flight lead (art by Bill Boynansky), Ace Reynolds, War Correspondent, the cult-favorite Professor X, Crime Doctor (by Carl Pfeufer — no relation to Marvel's later character), the text story Heroes Are Born!, and the one-shot vigilante strip Dash, the Avenger.

Released at the height of World War II, the title reflects the era's appetite for patriotic, Axis-fighting heroes, with the cover widely attributed to Charles M. Quinlan of Cat-Man Comics fame. The series ran eleven issues (1944–1947) and is best remembered today for the striking later covers by L.B. Cole. Four-Star wound the title down as the war ended and demand for German/Japanese-villain stories faded.

Today Captain Flight Comics #1 is a rare and collectible Golden Age book — only a handful of graded copies exist, with the highest known census grade around CGC 5.0. It draws interest from WWII-comics historians, aviation-comic collectors, and public-domain reprint publishers, and is notable both for the early "Professor X" feature and for its period-specific (and now dated) wartime racial content.
